The Reformed Church in Thusis in the canton of Grisons is a Grade II listed Evangelical - Reformed church .

history

The late Gothic church was built in the pre-Reformation period from 1491 to 1506 and renovated in 1792, 1814, 1905, 1956 and 2008. The tower adjoins the church to the north and dates from 1727. The onion dome , which was badly damaged by fire in 2002 , has been faithfully reconstructed.

Furnishing

The pulpit dates from the time of the Grisons turmoil in 1628. The organ with a five-way prospect is placed on the left in front of the choir and dates to 1956. In the southern extension there is a baptismal font in the Baroque style that is no longer in use . After the onion dome had been rebuilt, the tower was equipped with five new bells from Rüetschi, which were cast in Aarau in 2002. They sound in the tones c sharp, e, g sharp, b sharp, c sharp and thus form a minor-major motif.

Personalities

From 1784 to 1848 and so as long as no other Reformed clergyman history of the Grisons Synod officiated Leonhard Truog in Thusis.
