Regarde-moi ( French : "Look at me") is the sixth studio album by the French singer Lorie . It was released on November 21, 2011 on Columbia Records . The single Dita was released on August 26, 2011.

background

After her Le Tour 2Lor tour in 2008, Lorie decided to take a musical break to become an actress . In 2009 and 2010 she played the leading roles in the French television films De feu et de glace and Un mari de trop . Due to satisfactory attendance figures in broadcasting in TF1 Lorie got a guest role in the television series Les Feux de l'amour , in German and the Restless .

During the promotion for her first TV film in 2009, Lorie first spoke about the new album and at the time was not expecting a release until the end of 2009. At the end of 2010 work on the sixth studio album was officially confirmed. The day after their second TV film, Un mari de trop , was broadcast, the recordings for the album began. In July 2011, Lorie announced that it would be released on November 21, 2011.

On August 26, 2011, the first single Dita was released in advance . Dita was played by various radio stations and offered for purchase only as a download.

A short time later, Lorie published the track list of the album Regarde-moi for the first time on her website . She wrote four out of 11 songs herself. The sale of the album from late November 2011 was disappointing, so that in early 2012 the contractual relationship between Lorie and her record label Sony Music was ended. The new album and the previous album 2lor en moi? temporarily withdrawn from sale. In mid-June 2012, Lorie's team announced that both albums were available again. They now appeared under the label LMD2 Production, the production company of Lorie and her father Dominique Pester.

Music and content

The album consists of 11 tracks. Lorie wrote the songs L'intégrale , Têtu , J'en fais de trop independently and together with Delphine Dobrinine Une Histoire sans faim . The songs on the album were produced by Frederick Castle and written by Dobrinine, Xavier Requena, Thierry Surgeon, Gilles Lakoste, Michèle Lacoste, Sylvie Lorain-Berger and von Lorie. The themes of the album are diverse and deal with love, anorexia ( Une histoire sans faim ), homosexuality ( Nous ne sommes pas des Anges ) as well as discrimination and prejudice ( Faut-il que je développe? ).

promotion

To promote her new album, Lorie attended various French television programs, including L'École des fans, Le Plus Grand Cabaret du monde, Chabada and Les Grands du rire.

Lorie had an appearance on November 23, 2011 at the Queen disco on the Champs-Elysées. There she sang the songs Une histoire sans faim and Juste à tes cotés in an acoustic version. Later that night, she sang the songs Dita and Regarde-moi , which she also sang on November 26, 2011 at Mix Club Paris. Autograph sessions took place in several Fnac branches; at some autograph sessions there was an acoustic set.

The promotion for the album only took three months.

Track list

There are two versions of the album. The luxury edition (Édition Deluxe) includes the eleven music titles, a DVD with a making-of about the creation of the album and the music video for the single Dita .
