The Regensburg brooms ( Chamaecytisus ratisbonensis (Schaeff) Rothm.. , Syn. : Cytisus ratisbonensis . Schaeff ), even silk hair brooms called, is a plant type from the genus brooms ( Chamaecytisus ) and belongs to the family Leguminosae (Fabaceae). The genus is also often called goat clover .

description

The deciduous, perennial woody plant grows as a shrub (Chamaephyte) and reaches a stature height between 10 and 30 (50) centimeters. The rounded branches are thornless. Young shoots are gray-haired close-fitting.

The leaves are pinnate to three, with the feathers one to two centimeters long. The leaves are long-stalked and arranged alternately and, above all, densely hairy below.

The flowers are light yellow. The flag has a brownish spot and is significantly longer than the shuttle and wing. The flowers are solitary or in lateral clusters in the upper part of the branches.

Flowering time is from April to June, often a second time from September to October.

The dark brown legumes are densely hairy and begin to ripen from August.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 48.

Occurrence

The warmth-loving plant prefers dry, warm bushes and forests, dry grassland , embankments and quarries as a location . It indicates poor , nutrient-poor soils. It occurs in societies of the Erico-Pinion Association, also in the Pyrolo-Pinetum, in the Cytiso supini-Callunetum or in the Adonido-Brachypodietum.

The distribution area includes southern Central Europe and Southeast Europe to the Urals . In Germany only in Bavaria outside the Alps .

The Regensburg dwarf gorse is common in Austria in the Pannonian region (federal states Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland), rarely in Upper Austria.

The plant is occasionally planted as an ornamental wood (silk-haired goat clover).
