Regina Oja (born January 31, 1996 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian biathlete .
Career
Regina Oja comes from Võru , but now lives in the winter sports resort of Otepää . Her father Kristjan was also a biathlete and has been the race director of the IBU Cup since 2018 .
She has been a biathlete herself since 2012 and had her first international competitions at the World Youth Championships in Obertilliach in 2013 . Since the 2013/14 season she has also competed in races in the second-rate IBU Cup and also regularly participated in summer biathlon world championships as well as European youth and world championships in biathlon. She made her debut in the Biathlon World Cup in the 2015/16 season when she joined the Estonian team in the relay race in Ruhpolding . Together with Kadri Lehtla , Kristel Viigipuu and Grete Gaim , she was rated 21st after lapping.
At the 2018 European Biathlon Championships in Ridnaun , Italy , Oja took part for the first time in an international championship outside the junior area; in the single mixed relay, she and Rene Zahkna missed the medal ranks by less than 20 seconds in fourth.
