Regine Kollek

Regine Kollek (* 1950 ) is a German scientist and expert in bioethics with a focus on reproductive medicine and the impact assessment of modern biotechnologies . Regine Kollek was a member of the German Ethics Council from 2008 to 2012 .

Regine Kollek studied biology and chemistry in Braunschweig , Paris and Würzburg . From 1979 to 1981 she did a research stay at the Medical School of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). From 1981 to 1984 she was a research assistant at the Heinrich Pette Institute for Experimental Virology and Immunology at the University of Hamburg .

From 1985 to 1987 Regine Kollek worked on the scientific staff of the Enquête Commission Chances and Risks of Genetic Engineering of the German Bundestag in Bonn . From 1987 to 1988 she worked as a freelance worker at the Institute for Applied Ecology in Freiburg im Breisgau and then as a research assistant at the Hamburg Institute for Social Research until 1995 . Since 1995 Regine Kollek has been Professor of Technology Assessment of Modern Biotechnology in Medicine with a research focus on biotechnology, society and the environment at the University of Hamburg. Kollek heads the working group for technology assessment of modern biotechnology in medicine .
