Regnboginn ( German : Rainbow , party letter J ) is a small party in Iceland .

history

The party was founded in March 2013 by the then MP Bjarni Harðarson , who was previously a member of the Progressive Party . In addition, in the course of the founding of the party, MPs Jón Bjarnason and Atli Gíslason from the Left-Green Movement announced their move to the new party.

When it ran for the first time in the 2013 parliamentary election , the party received around 1.1 percent of the vote and thus did not receive a seat in the national parliament Althing . The party did not run for the general election in Iceland in 2016 .

program

In its program , the party advocates, among other things:

  • the negotiation process for accession to the European Union is to be suspended
  • sustainable development as well as equality, justice and well-being should be promoted
  • the fight against all injustice and violence should have top priority
  • decent wages and working conditions should be guaranteed for everyone
  • Eradicate poverty and discrimination
  • the health care in the country will be strengthened
  • everyone should have the right to a roof over their heads
