Imperial City Museum Weissenburg
The Reichsstadtmuseum Weißenburg is a local museum in Weißenburg in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen in Bavaria.
The museum, founded in 1983, is located within the listed old town , opposite the St. Andreas town church and next to the Weissenburg Roman Museum . It tells the story of the former imperial city of Weißenburg. There is a subdivision into the topics music and science , trade , church , handicrafts and guilds . The division into themed rooms shows many facets in the life of the Weißenburg population.
On the 50th anniversary of the sponsorship of the city of Weißenburg for the former Sudeten German city of Kaaden an der Eger , a new department opened in 2005. The expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia is discussed on an area of around 100 m² .
