Reid Taylor

Reid Taylor (* around 1980) is an American jazz musician ( double bass ) of modern jazz .

Live and act

Taylor received a musical training at the age of eight, began playing bass in his hometown of Washington DC, and took lessons from Butch Warren and Steve Novosel . After moving to New York City, he studied with Dennis Irwin ; he earned his bachelor's degree in music performance from the New School for Social Research. Since then he has worked on the New York jazz scene with Cecil Payne , Grant and Phil Stewart , Sacha Perry , Spike Wilner , George Garzone and Charles Gayle . The first recordings were made in 2001 with vocalist Dave Morrish ( I Forget How Beautiful You Are ). In the following years he played a. a with the Houston Jazz Ensemble and Gasper Bertoncelj and The Swingers of Jazz; currently in the bands The Flail (with Dan Blankinship , Stephan Moutot , Brian Marsella and Charles Goold ) and The Ned Goold Group. In the field of jazz he was involved in five recording sessions between 2002 and 2011.
