Reimer Schmidt

Reimer Schmidt (born April 10, 1916 in Hamburg , † November 14, 2002 in Aachen ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

After graduating from the Holstenschule in 1935 , he studied law in Kiel , Königsberg in Prussia , Berlin and Hamburg, with a two-year break from military service , and passed the first state examination in 1940 and the second in 1949 in Hamburg, where he obtained his doctorate in 1948 and in 1953 for civil law , commercial and insurance law habilitated . From 1955 to 1964 he was a board member of Deutsche Rückversicherung AG in Hamburg and managing director of the working group on public insurance. Since 1956 he has been appointed as an extraordinary professor and in 1961 after the refusal of calls to Kiel, Cologne , Frankfurt am Main and Munich as a full professor in Hamburg. In 1967 he moved to the board of directors of the Aachen and Munich fire insurance company .
