Reimund Schmidt-De Caluwe

Reimund Schmidt-De Caluwe (* 1956 in Gießen ) is a German lawyer and professor at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg .

Life

Reimund Schmidt-De Caluwe studied law at the Universities of Marburg and Gießen from 1977 . In 1983 he passed his first state examination in law. After the subsequent legal clerkship, he passed his second state examination in 1987. As a result, he worked as a research assistant to Friedrich von Zezschwitz at the University of Gießen , as he did during his legal clerkship . At the same time, Schmidt-De Caluwe was a lecturer at the Hessian Administrative School Association from 1989 to 1991 . In 1991 he completed his doctorate at von Zezschwitz. iur. for which he received the dissertation award of the University of Giessen in 1992. He then worked as a research assistant in Giessen. In 1998 Schmidt-De Caluwe completed his habilitation and received the venia legendi for the subjects of public law and social law. In 1999 he received the Justus Liebig University Prize for his habilitation thesis.

In 1998, he was deputy professor at the universities of Düsseldorf , Frankfurt am Main and Gießen. Since 2001 he has been Professor of Public Law at the University of Halle-Wittenberg . From 2008 to 2010 Schmidt-De Caluwe was Vice Dean of the local law and economics faculty.

His research focuses on general administrative law , administrative procedural law , social law with the areas of employment promotion law , basic security law for jobseekers and health insurance law as well as environmental law . In his private life, Reimund Schmidt-De Caluwe is a passionate photographer who regularly takes part in exhibitions.
