Pure Feistel

Reiner Feistel (* 1958 in Altenburg ) is a German ballet dancer , choreographer and ballet director.

Life

Feistel studied from 1973 to 1978 at the technical school for dance / ballet school of the Leipzig Opera . 1978 first engagement at the Dresden State Opera, from 1984 he appeared as a soloist at the Semperoper Dresden. He danced there until 1997 in leading and supporting roles such as in Coppélia , Swan Lake , Günther Fischer's Der Dompteur , Harald Wandtke's King Lear , The Moor's Pavane by José Limón to Shakespeare's Othello , Romeo and Juliet , La Fille mal gardée , but also on topics from As You Like It and Red and Black .

He dealt with well-known choreographers such as Harald Wandtke, Kurt Joos , Emöke Pöstenyi , Birgit Cullberg , Johannes Bönig , Stephan Thoss , Joseph Lazzini , John Neumeier and Uwe Scholz . In 1991 he brought his first solo evenings to the stage called Game of Forces 1 and Game of Forces 2 , and in 1996 he made his debut as a choreographer at the Semperoper with the matinee de la danse .

In August 1997 he was appointed ballet director of the Landesbühnen Sachsen , where he brought out two ballet premieres each season in the parent company in Radebeul (one for the large stage and one for the studio stage, here many world premieres) as well as a dance serenade for the Dresden Zwinger . This resulted in around 100 ballet evenings and 40 to 50 opera and operetta evenings at the Radebeul, Dresden, Rathen , Meißen , Freital , Großenhain and Hoyerswerda venues per year for the travel theater company .

Feistel's artistic work for Radebeul was honored in 2008 with the art prize of the large district town of Radebeul .

After a sold out farewell performance on July 7, 2013, Feistel moved to the Chemnitz Theater for the 2013/14 season , accompanied by some of his dancers.

In 2017, Reiner Feistels was awarded the Ursula Cain Prize - Der Saxon Dance Prize, for the Chemnitz Ballet Production Faces of the Big City .

In the 2018/19 season Reiner Feistel became director of the dance theater at Theater Ulm . With the Ulm Dance Theater he took up the faces of the big city .
