Reiner Marz (born August 16, 1958 in Rheinzabern ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life and work

After graduating from secondary school in Landau / Pfalz in 1977 , Marz studied political science and German at the University of Trier , which he completed in 1986 as a Magister Artium (MA). From 1987 onwards, Reiner Marz set up the “Environmental Education” project at the Saarbrücken school camp in Weiskirchen. From 1990 to 2001 he was managing director of the green council group in Trier. Reiner Marz has been a career changer in the school service since 2007. He teaches German and social studies / economics at the vocational school for nutrition, housekeeping and social care in Trier.

Reiner Marz has five children. He is a member of the Association of Teachers at Vocational Schools (vlbs).

Political party

In 1984, Marz became a member of the Green Party . From 1996 to 2000 he was spokesman for the state board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Rhineland-Palatinate .

MP

From 2001 to 2006 he was a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate and during this time also deputy chairman of the parliamentary group Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen. He was a member of the Social Committee and the Petitions Committee . He mainly worked on the issues of social affairs, health, local affairs and anti-discrimination policy. In addition, Reiner Marz was chairman of the parliamentary committee of inquiry "Home education instead of pre-trial detention". As a member of the Landtag Enquète “Kommunales”, he played a key role in anchoring the principle of connectivity in the constitution of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Reiner Marz was on the national list drawn into the parliament.

Reiner Marz was a member of the Trier City Council from 1989 to 2001 . He was re-elected to this body on June 7, 2009 and May 25, 2014. He resigned from the city council early on June 30, 2018. On August 30, 2018, he was awarded the ring of honor of the city of Trier at a solemn council meeting .
