Reiner Plaßhenrich (born December 12, 1976 in Paderborn ) is a former German soccer player and today's youth coach.
In his youth he played for FC Hövelriege and FC Stukenbrock before joining SC Verl in 1997 . In 2001 he moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth , where the Westphalian only made five appearances . He did not make a single competitive game at the regional league club SC Paderborn 07 , to which he was loaned shortly afterwards, as he played in his first friendly against Borussia Fulda Torn cruciate ligament .
In 2002 he joined VfB Lübeck . Under Dieter Hecking , who was already his coach in Verl, he became a regular in Lübeck. In two years he completed 58 games (three goals) for the North Germans. Two years later he followed his coach to Alemannia Aachen , where he also became a regular player. In 2005/06 he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with the club and with promotion to the top division he was also promoted to team captain. In December 2006, a knee injury threw him back. Due to subsequent complications, he only came to four games in the second half of the season. At the end of the 2006/07 season, Aachen was relegated to the second division.
After further injuries, which made it largely impossible for TSV to use its captain, Plaßhenrich also took over the assistant coaching position for the U-19 juniors of the Alemannia, who played in the A-Jugend Bundesliga , for the 2009/10 season . In the last games of the season he was their head coach and remained so for the following season.
After a total of six knee operations, including two cartilage transplants, he ended his career in the 2009/2010 season. He was substituted on again in the 86th minute at the end of the season against MSV Duisburg on May 9, 2010 and then officially adopted.
With Aachen he was also active in the UEFA Cup in the 2004/05 season and was used in seven of eight Alemannia games. In the first game he scored against the Icelandic representative FH Hafnarfjörður to make it 5-1. Reiner Plaßhenrich played 18 Bundesliga games (three goals) and 137 second division games (eight goals) in his career.
For the 2013/2014 season Plaßhenrich was assistant coach of the first team of Alemannia Aachen in the Regionalliga West at the side of Peter Schubert .
