Reiner Steffen

Reiner Steffen (born August 18, 1941 in Kirchbrak , Holzminden district , Lower Saxony ) is a German economist and was a university professor at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover from 1977 to 2002 .

Career

After graduating from high school and doing military service, Reiner Steffen studied business administration and business education at the universities of Saarbrücken and Göttingen from 1963 to 1968 . He then worked as a research assistant at the Ruhr University in Bochum until 1977 , where he received his doctorate in 1971 (Dr.rer.oec.) And his habilitation in 1975 ( Venia Legendi for business administration). With subsequent appointments to the University of Siegen (then a comprehensive university) and the University of Hanover, he decided to take over the chair for business administration with a focus on production management at the University of Hanover. He turned down an appointment at the University of Hohenheim that he had received in 1982 .
