Reiner Steffen

Reiner Steffen (born August 18, 1941 in Kirchbrak , Holzminden district , Lower Saxony ) is a German economist and was a university professor at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover from 1977 to 2002 .

Career

After graduating from high school and doing military service, Reiner Steffen studied business administration and business education at the universities of Saarbrücken and Göttingen from 1963 to 1968 . He then worked as a research assistant at the Ruhr University in Bochum until 1977 , where he received his doctorate in 1971 (Dr.rer.oec.) And his habilitation in 1975 ( Venia Legendi for business administration). With subsequent appointments to the University of Siegen (then a comprehensive university) and the University of Hanover, he decided to take over the chair for business administration with a focus on production management at the University of Hanover. He turned down an appointment at the University of Hohenheim that he had received in 1982 .

• Plant management (especially for highly automated production plants)
• Materials management / delivery conditions / just-in-time principles
• HR management tasks in production (forms of group work with transfers of autonomy; social skills in management tasks ; design of forms of remuneration)
• Cost and revenue accounting systems / controlling systems
• Operations research method for optimizing production programs and processes
• Interdisciplinary cooperation with engineering institutes at the University of Hanover (e.g. in special research areas of the German Research Foundation and in joint teaching modules on computer-integrated production , cooperative product engineering and ensuring the availability of highly automated production systems).
