Reinhard Bottländer

Reinhard Bottländer (born March 25, 1948 in Gerthe , City of Bochum ) is a German writer . He writes books for children and young people, poems, short stories and novels.

Life

Reinhard Bottländer grew up in a family of miners . He attended the Protestant primary school in Gerthe until 1962 and then began an apprenticeship as a fitter.

In 1965 he joined the police in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1972 he switched to the criminal service. He obtained a high school diploma for economics, studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Dortmund and became a criminal inspector in 1983 and later chief inspector. Reinhard Bottländer worked in various commissariats, especially in the search department and in various murder commissions . In 1994 he was appointed to the command post of the Bochum-Mitte police station .

In December 2000 he left the police service prematurely due to a serious illness and now lives alternately in the Ruhr area and Austria.

Reinhard Bottländer was already active as an author of books for children and young people in the 1980s, writing stories for anthologies , newspapers, magazines and radio. Some texts were also printed in school reading books. His comeback as a writer began in 2007 with the crime novel Murder in the Swamp .

Reinhard Bottländer is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS), of the authors' group of German-language crime literature ( Das Syndikat ) and of the Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis NRW.

  • In 1980 he received a literary work grant from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for his literary work.
