Reinhard Larcher (born June 15, 1947 in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer ) is an Austrian psychologist and psychotherapist.

Life

Reinhard Larcher graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium in St. Johann im Pongau in 1965 . From 1966 to 1971 he studied psychology, education and philosophy at the University of Salzburg and obtained his doctorate in 1971. phil. with Wilhelm Josef Revers with the dissertation dyslexia and other forms of reading and writing weaknesses . Between 1970 and 1976 he trained as a psychoanalyst in the Salzburg working group for depth psychology under Igor Alexander Caruso and between 1974 and 1980 he trained as a group dynamics specialist in the Austrian working group for group therapy and group dynamics (ÖAGG).

Larcher while studying social Speaker and Deputy Chairman was the National Union of Students in Salzburg. As early as 1969 during his student days in a student union pilot project with Dr. Gottfried Petri from the Graz Center for School Development has started to develop an offer for the first time in Austria to support students during study crises with the help of the psychoanalyst Igor Alexander Caruso . From 1970 he was head of the psychological student counseling in Salzburg. As a result, he was instrumental in setting up student counseling centers throughout Austria and in training psychological counselors .

Reinhard Larcher has been a university lecturer at the University of Salzburg since 1981 for the subjects of psychoanalysis, communication, group dynamics and group psychotherapy, as well as mental hygiene and burnout. In 1992 he founded the university course in psychotherapeutic propaedeutics with specialist colleagues and has been deputy head since the beginning. He became the teaching supervisor of the university course for supervision and coaching and is the deputy head of the subsequent course Master for supervision, coaching and supervision .

Since it was founded in 2003, he has been a university lecturer at the Paracelsus Medical Private University and scientific coordinator for the area of communicative competence , which was included in the Salzburg medical studies curriculum through his initiative. Since 1999 he has worked as a teaching therapist and supervisor as well as a lecturer at the Wiesbaden Academy for Psychotherapy (WIAP).

He works as a freelance psychoanalyst, group psychotherapist, group trainer, supervisor and coach . From 1979 to 1987 he was head of the Salzburg working group for depth psychology and from 1981 to 1991 chairman of the leading conference of the Austrian working groups for psychoanalysis and from 1992 to 2003 chairman of the federal conference of the Austrian Federal Association for Psychotherapy. From 1993 to 2016 he was a member of the training committee for group dynamics of the ÖAGG (chairman from 1998 to 2010). In 1983 he was a founding member and until 1988 spokesman for the human hospital action group and then in 1988 co-founder of the Salzburg Patient Forum (later Self-Help Salzburg ), in which he has been an advisory board member since it was founded.
