Career

Reinhard Majgl played a total of 44 Bundesliga games for VfL Bochum from 1972 to 1974 and scored ten goals. VfL coach Heinz Höher had taken the striker from Schwarz-Weiß Essen to Castroper Straße. He made his Bundesliga debut in the 1972/73 season on September 16, 1972 in the 2-0 away win for Bochum in Braunschweig . From VfL Bochum, Majgl moved to Belgium to AS Eupen in 1974 . A year later he moved to Fortuna Cologne . In the 2nd Bundesliga , the striker completed another 40 games for Cologne in the following three years, but only scored one goal. After a year-long stint at the club 1. FC Viersen , Majgl moved to the Oberliga Nordrhein in 1979 for 1. FC Bocholt . With the club he became champions of the league in 1979/80 - Majgl scored eleven goals this season - and took part in the German amateur championship . In the second division season 1980/81 he came for the promoted team in 36 missions on eleven goals, but since the single-track second division was introduced after the season, the chances of relegation were low and the club rose immediately despite rank 12 again. In the 1982/83 season Reinhard Majgl failed with Bocholt as Oberliga runner-up behind Rot-Weiß Oberhausen just to get promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, but took part again in the German Amateur Championship . In the DFB-Pokal 1981/82 the attacker reached the round of 16 with 1. FC Bocholt, where they were only defeated by 1. SC Göttingen 05 in the replay . He scored eight goals in a total of eleven DFB Cup appearances.
