Reinhard Tramontana (born February 27, 1948 in Vienna ; † October 6, 2005 ibid) was an Austrian journalist, cabaret artist and author of numerous books.

Life

Reinhard Tramontana was co-founder of the cabaret group Die Scheibenwischer , worked as a freelance journalist and for Die Presse and Salzburger Nachrichten , was editor-in-chief of Basta magazine and publisher of Wiener magazine .

Since 1971 he has worked as an author for the news magazine profil and from 1982 as deputy editor-in-chief; his weekly column profan has appeared here since 1975 , in which he satirically commented on events in politics and society. Since 1976 he has written the trendstation column in the business magazine trend .

In 1998 he was awarded the Nestroy Ring by the City of Vienna.

Reínhard Tramontana died on the night of October 5th to 6th, 2005 in Vienna due to internal bleeding. He was buried in an honorary grave of the City of Vienna at the Vienna Central Cemetery (group 40).
