Reinhardt Wagner (born April 26, 1956 ) is a French composer who has made a name for himself in France mainly with music for the cinema and theater . In his home country there are also many chansons from his pen.

Wagner studied classical guitar and piano at the Conservatoire d'Orléans and the history of music , aesthetics and music analysis at the Paris Conservatory . He is a regular jury member at several conservatories and film festivals .

In Germany his music became known to a larger audience through the 2008 film " Paris, Paris - Monsieur Pigoil on the Way to Happiness " by Christophe Barratier . Wagner's music from the film received the Étoile d'Or in the category Best Film Music in 2009 . In 2010 the chanson “Loin de Paname” from the same film was nominated for an Oscar in the “ Best Song ” category.
