Reinhart Firchow

Reinhart Firchow (* 1943 in Hamburg ) is a German actor , radio play speaker and university teacher.

life and work

The son of the opera singer Hermann Firchow (1911–1981) studied at the drama school in Hamburg . In 1968 he took up a beginner's engagement in Göttingen , was committed to the Städtische Bühnen Essen from 1971 and from 1972 to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . Since 1978 he has been working as a freelancer, mainly in Essen, Cologne, Düsseldorf and at the Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen . Collaboration with Kurt Hübner , Hansjörg Utzerath , Wolf Seesemann and Roberto Ciulli .

Firchow was one of the founding members of the Theater an der Ruhr , and has been a guest there since 2003. In 1986 he played Merkl Franz in Ödön von Horváths Kasimir und Karoline . From 1995 to 1998 he was engaged at the Salzburg Festival as a thin cousin in Hofmannsthal's Jedermann . In 2011 he played King Lear in a production by Ulrich Greb at the Moers Castle Theater . The actor has also appeared in film, television, radio and audio books and has made numerous documentary programs as a narrator.

Firchow is professor emeritus for acting and role studies at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen .

With the actress Andrea Gowin he has a son, Jason Firchow (* 1986), who became famous as the rapper JayJay .
