Reinhold Andert (born March 26, 1944 in Teplitz-Schönau ) is a German songwriter and author.

Life

Andert attended the Episcopal Pre-Seminar in Schöneiche near Berlin from 1958 to 1962 and completed an apprenticeship as an organ builder in Gotha until 1964 . In 1963 he joined the SED . From 1964 to 1969 he studied philosophy and history at the Humboldt University in Berlin and until 1972 he was assistant for philosophy at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin , since then he has been a freelance artist.

From 1966 to 1973 he was a member of the October Club . Until 1980 he performed at the Berlin Festival of Political Song and was a participant in the GDR open chanson days in Michaelsstein Monastery . In dealing with clichéd political texts, he coined the motto: "GDR concrete". After he was expelled from the SED in 1980, his texts became more critical and his performance opportunities were restricted. He came out with adaptations by the Russian singer-songwriter Vladimir Vysotsky . In addition, he deepened his knowledge of history and specialized in Central German prehistory and early history. The results of this time were the two books Der Thüringer Königshort and Der Fränkische Reiter .

Andert was a neighbor of Erich Honecker's daughter. After Honecker's fall, Andert expressed his discomfort to his daughter Sonja at dealing with Honecker, who then invited him to visit, during which Andert talked to Margot Honecker . Andert stood up for Erich and Margot Honecker through his contacts with the church by helping them find accommodation and was later invited to the Honeckers for a conversation in Lobetal , where Erich Honecker thanked Andert for his help. After the fall of the Wall , Reinhold Andert, accompanied by the photographer Christina Kurby, visited Erich Honecker in his asylum in Lobetal and had several conversations with him, which he later published. Since the beginning of the 1990s he has been increasingly active as an author of satirical texts .

Reinhold Andert is married and has two grown sons.
