Reinhold Hucker

Reinhold Hucker (born November 15, 1949 in Unterelchingen ) is a former German wrestler .

Career

Hucker comes from a family of wrestlers, his older brother Josef was a German wrestling champion. Hucker started wrestling at the Kraftsportverein (KSV) Unterelchingen as a schoolboy. In 1967 he became German youth champion in the free style before Peter Neumair from Hallbergmoos and came in 3rd place in the Greco-Roman style, each in the weight class up to 78 kg body weight. In the years 1968 to 1970 he won three German championship titles in the juniors and was twice runner-up in both styles in the middleweight division.

Reinhold was German senior champion in 1972 in the Greco-Roman style in the middleweight division. Hucker, a toolmaker by profession , later moved to the German Bundesliga club ASV Bauknecht Schorndorf .

In 1971 he was used for the first time at an international championship. At the World Championships in 1971 in Sofia he came among 26 participants in the middleweight, Greco-Roman style, on the 9th place, where he could defeat the strong wrestlers André Bouchoule from France and Jan Kärström from Sweden . At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich and at the 1974 World Cup in Katowice , he could no longer fully meet the expectations placed on him.

After 1974 he no longer competed in championships.
