Peter Nettekoven (born January 21, 1940 in Bonn ) is a former German wrestler .
Career
Peter Nettekoven began in 1948 when TKSV Duisdorf with the gymnastics and wrestling . Since he had greater successes in wrestling in the school and youth sector in North Rhine-Westphalia at regional level , he soon switched to wrestling entirely. In 1958 he was German A youth champion and in 1961 for the first time German senior champion. From 1963, he had meanwhile switched to the top German club ASV Heros Dortmund , and until 1972 he had many international assignments, where he always wrestled with full commitment and was able to achieve great successes. A third place at the 1966 World Championships in Toledo / USA in the welterweight, Greco-Roman style, was his greatest success.
In 1964 Peter Nettekoven failed in the all-German Olympic elimination for the welterweight games in Tokyo (free style) just to Martin Heinze from SC Chemie Halle.
At the many international championships and the country fights that were still common at the time, he competed against a number of international world-class wrestlers. On these occasions he defeated the following international top wrestlers or at least fought against them: Franz Berger , Austria, Martin Heinze, GDR, Bjarne Ansbol , Denmark, Wiktor Igumenow , USSR, Harald Barlie , Norway, Bertil Nyström , Sweden, Jimmy Martinetti , Switzerland, Milan Nenadić , Yugoslavia, Vitězlav Mácha , Czechoslovakia, Piotr Starczynski , Poland, Rudolf Vesper , DDRö, Sirri Acar , Turkey, Matti Laakso , Finland, Jan Kårström , Sweden, Andre Bouchoule , France, Kurt Elmgren , Sweden and Ion Țăranu , Romania.
He was a total of eight German masters in both styles.
Peter Nettekoven learned the butcher's trade and also passed the master craftsman examination. After the end of his active wrestling career, he became a coach and also worked for years as an assistant to the national coach.
