Reinhold Ziegler (born July 3, 1955 in Erlangen ; † August 17, 2017 in Aschaffenburg ) was a German writer and journalist .

Life

Reinhold Ziegler was born in Erlangen in 1955. He studied mechanical engineering , but began to write during his studies. He later worked for a few years as an engineer in engine construction and diving technology before completing an apprenticeship as a journalist in 1983 at Motor Presse Stuttgart under Ferdinand Simoneit . He worked for many years as an editor and freelance journalist on technical topics, at the same time he regularly published novels and short stories for teenagers and young adults. He lived as a freelance writer in Daxberg and spent the last years of his life in Hösbach near Aschaffenburg . He was a member of the Association of German Writers (VS), since February 2013 also VS Chairman in Lower Franconia . He died on August 17, 2017.

Works

Most of Reinhold Ziegler's books are aimed at older teenagers and young adults. He addresses the problems of growing up, but also the longings and desires of an entire generation. In his novels Version 5 Punkt 12 and Perfectly Cloned he designs future scenarios by extending today's developments in modern technology into the future. He draws on the knowledge of his technical training. Many of his books and short stories are now part of the literary canon of schools.
