Reinprecht V. von Graben zu Kornberg , also Grabner and vom Graben (* at Kornberg Castle , mentioned between 1456 and 1493 ) was an Austrian nobleman from the Styrian line of the Lords of Graben at Kornberg Castle. He was a Habsburg chamberlain, administrator and military leader. As the caretaker (ore) of Duke Siegmund of Austria-Tyrol , he also appeared in Strudengau in Lower Austria and on Ehrenberg in Tyrol.

biography

Reinprecht von Graben is due to his designation Von Graben zu Kornberg , as well as the naming as a brother of Wolfgang von Graben († before 1468) as a son of the burgrave Friedrich II. Von Graben and the Elisabeth Steinwald von Fladnitz in question. He was married twice; first with Barbara Nothaft zu Wernberg , and then with Margarete / Barbara von Wolfstein .

Reinprecht von Graben entered the service of Duke Siegmund of Austria , as his keeper (also burgrave ) in the Strudengau he is named in 1456. In 1458 he was also appointed chamberlain to Archduke Albrecht VI. called by Austria. Duke Siegmund requested Von Graben in 1464 in the course of the Habsburg inheritance disputes, the Veste Struden to Emperor Friedrich III. cede. As the imperial caretaker in Strudengau, Reinprecht was appointed in 1471 to collect an imperial marriage tax from Poland. In 1460 a comparison was made between Von Graben and Herzog Siegmund due to an unpaid debt on the part of Archduke Albrecht.

Between the years 1461 and 1473 Reinprecht von Graben appears to be Duke Siegmund's keeper von Ehrenberg (anciently: Erenberg, Ernberg ) and also responsible for Aschau in Tyrol. In 1475 Reinprecht's brother-in-law Heinrich the Younger Rindscheid bought Werfenstein Castle in Struden from his property . Since this purchase was illegal, Rindscheid had to swear to Emperor Friedrich Urfehde in 1479 .

As a military man, Reinprecht von Graben was leader of the Nuremberg contingent in the war against Charles the Bold of Burgundy in 1474/75 . In 1493 he appears as one of the imperial army leaders in the war against the Croats at the battle of the Krbava field .

Individual evidence

  1. The published date of death October 19, 1479 does not appear credible due to his participation as an imperial military leader in 1493, and in the absence of another, i.e. later living, Reinprecht von Graben
