Remigius Weißsteiner
Remigius Weißsteiner CanReg (born March 30, 1843 in Pfunders ; † April 25, 1913 in Rankweil ) was provost and Lateran abbot of the Augustinian canons of Neustift from 1883 to 1913.
Live and act
Remigius Weißsteiner, first name Johann, from Pfunders, attended the grammar school in Brixen and in 1868 entered the Augustinian canons' monastery in Neustift in South Tyrol , where he made his profession in 1872 . He was ordained a priest on October 6, 1872, and celebrated his primacy on October 8, 1872 . He then became a cooperator in Welschnofen and was vice economist in the monastery from 1875 to 1879 . Elected provost on 28 November 1883 he received the on December 16th 1883 benediction .
From 1885 he was a member of the Imperial Council for large estates.
