René Frank (cook)

René Frank (* 1984 in Wangen ) is a German cook and pastry chef .

Career

After his first position in the Zirbelstube in Stuttgart , he went to Spain in 2007 to the Oriol Balaguer Chocolaterie in Barcelona , then to the Akelarre restaurant in San Sebastián (three Michelin stars ). Then he moved to Switzerland to Lampart’s at Reto Lampart (two Michelin stars). In France he worked at the Georges Blanc restaurant (three Michelin stars). He worked in Japan for six months : in Tokyo he was at the Nihonryori RyuGin (three Michelin stars) and in Kyoto at the Kikunoi (three Michelin stars). Then visits followed in the Center de Formation of Alain Ducasse in Paris and at the Culinary Institute of America in New York and Napa Valley .

From 2010 to 2016 Frank was head pastry chef at La Vie in Osnabrück (three Michelin stars).

Since August 2016 he has been the head chef with the new concept of the Coda dessert restaurant in Berlin . It has been awarded a Michelin star since 2019.
