René Pétillon
René Pétillon (born December 12, 1945 in Lesneven ; † September 30, 2018 ) was a French comic artist and cartoonist .
René Pétillon drew for various magazines before he came to Pilote in 1972 , where he created his main character Jack Palmer , a somewhat dumb-looking private detective, in 1974 . The comics with Jack Palmer are humorous and even slapstick , partly satirical and have been published in various magazines. For Yves Got he wrote the scenario for the series Le Baron noir , which appeared from 1976 to 1981.
The twelfth Jack Palmer album L'Enquête Corse thematized Corsican nationalism and was a success in France and Corsica . The album served as the basis for the 2004 film of the same name by Alain Berbérian with Christian Clavier and Jean Reno .
From 1993 he drew cartoons and caricatures for the satirical magazine Le Canard enchaîné .
Awards
In 1989 he received the Grand Prix de la Ville d'Angoulême , the album l'Enquête corse received the award for Best Album in 2001 . In 2002 he received the Grand prix de l'humour vache at the Salon international du dessin de presse et d'humour in Saint-Just-le-Martel .
