René Regenass
René Regenass (shared pseudonym with Jürg Moser : Hieronymus Zwiebelfisch , born May 15, 1935 in Basel ) is a Swiss writer and visual artist .
Life
René Regenass comes from a civil servant family. He attended grammar school in Basel and, after graduating from high school, began studying history , Romance languages and German at the University of Basel . After five semesters, he broke off his studies and set off on a bicycle tour across Europe. Then he lived from various activities; he was, among other things, a commercial clerk, copywriter and editor of a hospital magazine . From 1969 he published smaller prose texts in magazines and anthologies . He has lived as a freelance writer in Basel since 1979 . He is also active as a sculptor .
René Regenass is a writer of novels , short stories , poetry , dramas and radio plays . He is also an employee of the satirical magazine Nebelspalter . The constant theme of his works is flight, both in its manifestation as a conscious liberation from personal constraints and as the fate of the displaced in our time.
René Regenass is a member of the German-speaking Swiss PEN Center ; from 1982 to 1985 he was President of the Olten Group .
