René Schneider (born July 18, 1976 in Duisburg ) is a German journalist and member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia ( SPD ).

René Schneider graduated from the Kamp-Lintfort municipal grammar school in 1996 and completed a degree in journalism at the University of Dortmund , which he graduated in 2005 as a journalist and editor. From 2002 to 2008 he was the personal advisor to Claudia Scheler, member of the SPD state parliament . From there he moved to the Gelsenkirchen city ​​administration as a speechwriter . As deputy head of the Representation and Town Partnerships department, he was responsible for part of the public image of the town administration until 2011. In the summer of 2011, Schneider switched to marketing at Stadtwerke Kamp-Lintfort . In the early state elections in May 2012 and in the state elections in 2017 , he won the direct mandate in the regional constituency of Wesel II .
