René Trehkopf (born April 8, 1980 in Altdöbern ) is a German football player .

Career

Trehkopf started playing soccer at SV Calau and moved to Energie Cottbus at the age of 14 . In the 1999/2000 season he made promotion to the first division with the team . However, Trehkopf only played two games and was only used in the second team in the following season (the first for Cottbus in the 1st Bundesliga). In 2001 he moved to Dresdner SC in the Regionalliga Nord , where he played 54 games (2 goals) from 2001 to 2003.

He already had a contract with FC Erzgebirge Aue when he was indirectly involved in the rise of the Auer on June 1, 2003. In the penultimate game of the 2002/03 Regionalliga season, he was there when his Dresdner SC lost 4-1 to FC Erzgebirge Aue and his future team-mates celebrated their promotion on the pitch.

After a difficult start-up phase, he played his first second division game for Aue against VfB Lübeck on December 14, 2003 , when he came on for Rüdiger Rehm in the 72nd minute. Then began his ascent to become a regular player, which was only slowed down by a red card in the game against 1. FC Nürnberg on matchday 22.

René Trehkopf played a total of 69 games (5 goals) in the 2nd Bundesliga from 2003/04 to 2005/06 and achieved good placings with FC Erzgebirge Aue (8th, 7th, 7th). Most of his goals resulted from free kicks from the half-right position. In the 2006/07 season he showed fluctuating performance and was involved in 14 games (no goal). After the fall of the Auer in 2008, he moved to VfL Osnabrück . There he was never able to prevail due to injuries and therefore did not play a single game for VfL.

For the 2009/10 season , Trehkopf moved to Dynamo Dresden . He signed a one-year contract there. After he was released from Dynamo Dresden during the winter break in 2009/10, he moved to Chemnitzer FC .

Since 2014 he has been playing for the Lübben soccer club SV Grün-Weiß Lübben .
