Water supply to the Glomma

The Renaelva (also Rena ) is a 165 km long left tributary of the Glomma in the province of Innlandet in Norway .

The Renaelva has its origin east of the Tronfjell and flows through the municipalities of Rendalen and Åmot parallel to the Glomma to the south, flows through the lakes Lomnessjøen and Storsjøen and the reservoir Løpsjøen and flows into the Glomma at the town of Rena .

Below Løpsjøen, the 32 km long Julussa flows into the Renaelva from the south.

The catchment area of the Renaelva is 3967 km².

A tunnel guides part of the water from the upper Glomma to the Renaelva in order to optimize the energy generation of the hydropower plants.
