Renatas Požėla

Renatas Požėla (born February 27, 1974 in Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian officer, head of the Lithuanian border guards , former police officer , deputy general police commissioner of Lithuania.

Life

After graduating from high school, he completed a bachelor's degree in law at the Lietuvos policijos akademija in Vilnius in 1996 and a master's degree in law and police activities at the Mykolo Romerio universitetas in 2007 . He got a master's degree in law. From August 1993 he worked in the Lithuanian police in the municipality of Šiauliai . From October 2003, he headed a police subdivision in the Šiauliai Rajong Municipality and later held many senior positions. From 2008 he was deputy head of Lietuvos policijos eismo priežiūros tarnyba . From May 2011 to February 2014 he was Deputy Police Commissioner General of Lithuania . From February 2013 he was the chief police superintendent . Since March 10, 2015 he has been the head of Valstybės sienos apsaugos tarnyba . He was appointed by Interior Minister Saulius Skvernelis , his former police chief. On September 17, 2015, Požėla was promoted to General in the Internal Service by Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius .
