Renate Fischer (born Renate Köhler in Chemnitz on July 1, 1943 ) is a former German cross-country skier .

It started for the SC Tractor Oberwiesenthal and internationally for the GDR . Fischer took part in the Olympic Games in Grenoble in 1968 (still as Renate Köhler) and in Sapporo in 1972 . At the 1970 World Cup in Strebske Pleso, she won the silver medal in the 3 × 5 km relay together with Gabriele Haupt and Anna Unger . That was the first medal in Nordic skiing among women for the GDR. At the 1968 Olympics she finished 14th over 5 km, 16th over 10 km and 6th with the relay. 4 years later in Sapporo she reached 14th place over 5 km, 9th over 10 km and 5th place with the relay.

At GDR championships, she won four gold medals with the relay and two individual titles over 5 km.
