Renate Steiner

Renate Steiner (born June 11, 1924 in Aachen ; † October 15, 1991 ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Renate Steiner passed her Abitur in Wiesbaden in 1943 and then did Reich Labor Service and military service (tram service in the Ruhr area). From 1944 to 1949 she studied biophysics and worked from 1949 to 1952 as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysics in Frankfurt am Main. Since 1952 she has been an editor at the Franz Steiner Verlag Wiesbaden, a family-owned, scientific publisher.

politics

Renate Steiner held various board positions in the SPD. She was a city councilor in Wiesbaden from 1964 to 1968. On February 1, 1968, she replaced Rudi Schmitt in the Hessian state parliament, to which she was a member until November 30, 1970.

Other offices

Renate Steiner was a board member of the Volkshochschule Wiesbaden, from 1966 chairwoman of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) district Hessen-Süd and 1968 of the ASB Wiesbaden.
