Renate Usko (* before 1946) is a German actress .

Life

Renate Usko completed an acting training at the State Drama School Berlin , which she graduated in 1965. As a theater actress , Usko had various theater engagements, including at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam . There she appeared in 1974 as a consultation assistant for Hanna in the play On both banks by Alfred Matusche . In 1975 she played there, directed by Thomas Neumann , in the play The Excellent by Regina Weicker . Her stage roles included Anna in the play Nachtasyl , Lizzie Derrill in the comedy The End of the Beginning by Sean O'Casey and Mrs. Marchmont in the social comedy An Ideal Husband .

From the mid-1960s to the beginning of the 1990s she took part in numerous film and television productions for DEFA and television in the GDR . In the fairy tale film The Golden Goose , she played one of the main female roles; she embodied, at the side of Katharina Lind , the young girl Gret , who sticks to the golden goose together with her sister Lies .

Later she mainly took on high-profile supporting roles in DEFA films, for example as the printer's wife in the comedy Die unworthy Greisin (1984) or as a maid Karin in Siegfried Kühn's tragic comedy Childhood (1986) .

On GDR television she also appeared in small episode roles in the crime series The Public Prosecutor Has the Word , for example as neighbor Ines in the public prosecutor's episode A sympathetic young man (1980) and subsequently Blonder Tiger, Schwarze Tango (1990).

Directed by Tom Tykwer , she took on the role of Frau Dahlbach in the psychological thriller Die tödliche Maria (1993). She had a small role as a Stasi officer in 1999 in the film Midsommar Stories . She was last seen in the cinema in 2003 in the movie Rosenstrasse .
