Alex Renato Ibarra Mina (born January 20, 1991 in Ambuquí ) is an Ecuadorian football player .
Career
society
Ibarra switched from youth to the professionals of CD El Nacional in 2009 . He played in his home country for two years. In the summer of 2011 he moved to Europe for the Dutch first division club in Arnhem. He made his debut in the Eredivisie , the highest league in the Netherlands, on November 27, 2011, the 14th matchday. In the 0-0 win against FC Twente Enschede , he was in the starting line-up and was substituted for Nicky Hofs in the 83rd minute . Before leaving in the summer of 2016, he made 122 league games for Arnhem.
On July 1, 2016, Ibarra moved to Mexico for Club América. He made his debut in the Liga MX of the highest Mexican league on July 17, 2016, the 1st matchday. In the 2-0 win over Chiapas FC , he was on the field for over 90 minutes. In December he took part in the FIFA Club World Cup with Club America . There the club finished 4th in the end. Ibarra was only used in the semi-finals against Real Madrid . In this 2-0 defeat, he was replaced after 62 minutes for Carlos Darwin Quintero .
National team
Ibarra attracted attention at the 2011 U-20 World Cup . Ecuador reached the round of 16. For the senior team he made his debut on April 20, 2011 in a friendly against Argentina . At the 2014 World Cup , Ibarra was part of Ecuador's 23 squad. He was used in the third and final group game against France . Ibarra came on for Jefferson Montero in the 63rd minute . The game ended 0-0 and so he was eliminated with Ecuador in the preliminary round.
Others
His younger brother Romario Ibarra (* 1994) is also a soccer player. He is currently under contract with CD Universidad Católica in Ecuador.
