Rere is a small settlement in the Gisborne District on the North Island of New Zealand .
geography
The settlement is located around 37 km west-northwest of Gisborne in a remote mountain landscape east of the Huiarau Range . The Wharekopae River flows through the settlement .
Education
With the Rere School, the settlement has a primary school with grades 1 to 8. In 2016, 23 students attended the school.
Attractions
In the settlement are on the kinking main road that leads over the Wharekopae River , the few meters high single-stage Rere Falls .
