The Rester Peak is a 3638 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Royal Society Range, it rises 2 km northeast of Mount Rucker .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1994 after the American astrophysicist A. Carl Rester of the University of Florida , who was responsible for the instrumentation of a balloon for astrophysical investigations that ascended in Antarctica in January 1988 .
