Retignano is a district of the municipality of Stazzema ( Province of Lucca , Tuscany , Italy).
geography
The place is at an altitude of 360 to 440 meters above sea level in the landscape of Versilia and in the Apuan Alps . Retignano is about 5 km northwest of the capital Stazzema and about 30 km northwest of the provincial capital Lucca . The regional capital Florence is about 90 km south-east. The residents are called Retignanesi . The center is at 396 m, the place has about 370 inhabitants. The place is located on a southwest slope of the Alpe della Pania mountain range (1859 m on the Pania della Croce mountain ).

In 1220 the church Chiesa di Retignano was named in a document from Pope Honorius III. mentioned.
