Philosophy overview

On the way to a new way of thinking

Reto Fetz sees himself as continuing the tradition of the philosophers Alfred North Whitehead , Ernst Cassirer and Jean Piaget , who for Fetz represent outstanding philosophical and scientific new approaches of the 20th century and for Fetz as "transformative thinkers" are the basis of a new meta and mega paradigm . According to Fetz, the central statements are as follows:

" Reality is made up of a multitude of independent, but internally connected process beings (Pluarlism). Such a process being results from a genesis that leads from an initial structure to a final structure. Structure and genesis are mutually dependent (genetic structuralism) The moment in self-realization is self-regulation (autoregulation), which is expressed in equilibrium processes (equilibration) .

The coevolution of individual beings and reality is aimed at ever higher levels, which lead from physical structures through biological organization to consciousness. An organismic basic feature is already inherent in the physical structures.

Fetz sees his approach as a continuation of the subject philosophy of the modern age, but with the gradual difference of overcoming the dualisms of matter and spirit, life and spirit, as well as nature and culture: " It leaves the death of the subject behind, as does the dehumanizing tendencies of systems thinking and deconstructivism ".

Biophilosophy - The Reality of Active Beings

Based on these positions, Reto Fetz has designed a foundation for an organismic and structural genetic conception of reality, which is a new, organismic conception of reality based on Whitehead, Cassierer and Piaget (Reality of Active Beings, 2019) and represents a new biophilosophy. The central basic term is the term "active beings", which was conceived in analogy to Withehead's term "actual entity", but are no longer monads. According to Fetz, this can be understood as a first approximation of the "concept of the living being".
