The Reuschel & Co. Limited Partnership was a German private bank based in Munich . It opened on October 13, 2010 in the Donner & Reuschel bank . Private & business banking , wealth management and individual support for medium-sized companies, institutional investors and, last but not least, foundations formed the company's core business areas. The Business Identifier Code was REUC DE MM XXX, the bank code was 700 303 00.

history

1940s

In 1947 Eugen Neuvians and Wilhelm Reuschel joined the then largely dormant bank Witzig & Co., which was renamed Neuvians, Reuschel & Co. limited partnership shortly afterwards. In the same year, the first counter was opened under this name at 19 Maximiliansplatz.

After the currency reform in 1948, the banking market was confronted with a stormy development. For Neuvians, Reuschel & Co. Kommanditgesellschaft, this was expressed in a rapid increase in total assets and in the number of customers. In the same year the WKV-Bank Munich was founded as a subsidiary .

1950s

Otto Schniewind joined the bank in 1952 as a personally liable partner (phG). At the end of the year he was appointed Royal Consul General of Sweden . At the same time, Eugen Neuvians was appointed Royal Swedish Vice Consul.

Under the aspect of an expansion aimed at in the near future , the ruined sites at Maximiliansplatz 13 and 14 were acquired. The new headquarters at Maximiliansplatz 13 and 14 was inaugurated on August 15, 1955.

The increasing interest of German investor circles in the newly emerging investment saving led to a participation of the bank in 1956 in the newly founded Union Investment -Gesellschaft mbH, Frankfurt am Main .

In 1957 the son of the co-founder, Heinrich Reuschel , joined the group of limited partners .

1960s

At the end of 1962, after reaching the age of 70, the general partner Otto Schniewind switched to the group of limited partners. Heinrich Reuschel became his successor.

In 1966 Reuschel & Co. was the first bank to switch to radio advertising and launched a new image campaign with large posters on the Munich tram . The slogan “A Munich resident goes to the Reuschel Bank” is born.

At the end of the 1960s, Wilhelm Reuschel resigned as general partner and took the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors . Eugen Neuvians gave up his position as a personally liable partner and sold his shares to Heinrich Reuschel.

1970s

At the end of 1970, Dresdner Bank AG joined the bank as a limited partner. Wilhelm Reuschel became honorary chairman of the board of directors.

In the course of further growth, a property at Jungferntumstraße 2 was acquired in 1973.

In 1977 the general renovation of the headquarters at Maximiliansplatz 13 took place.

In 1978 Heinrich Reuschel moved from management to the board of directors as deputy chairman.

1980s

In autumn 1984 the EDP ​​system was converted to Siemens-KORDOBA , which was set up as an online system at all branches the following year.

In the course of growth (in 1988 the balance sheet total exceeded 3 billion DM), the Art Nouveau house at Friedrichstrasse 18 in Schwabing was acquired. The renovation, in which over 100 employees were involved, extended into the 1990s.

1990s

In 1990 Reuschel & Co. received the Facade Prize of the City of Munich after the renovation work on Friedrichstrasse 18 was completed. In the same year the first ATM was used.

Heinrich Reuschel died in 1991 at the age of 69.

At the beginning of 1992 Reuschel & Co. took over a 74% stake in Privatinvest Bank AG in Salzburg . The balance sheet total climbed above the 4 billion mark at the end of 1991. Shortly afterwards, the neighboring building at Maximiliansplatz 15, which had previously been rented, was acquired. As a result of a new branch philosophy, the first branch consolidation took place in Haidhausen.

In 1996 the counter hall at Maximiliansplatz 13 was completely rebuilt and modernized.

21st century

With the integration into Dresdner Bank, a trend towards internationalization and the expansion of the area of ​​activity was outlined.

From the beginning of 2003, Reuschel relied on new strategies with structured investment processes. The path led away from investments in individual stocks to strategic portfolio management in order to be able to implement a significantly stricter risk management .

In 2007 the bank carried out an image campaign that gave the bank a new umbrella brand strategy and thus a new company logo .

With the takeover of Dresdner Bank by Commerzbank , the latter had become the owner of Bankhaus Reuschel and was able to meet another part of the EU requirements by selling the Bankhaus Reuschel to Conrad Hinrich Donner Bank from Hamburg. In the course of the sale in October 2009, the sale of Privatinvest Bank to Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB) was announced.

On October 1, 2010, Reuschel & Co. Kommanditgesellschaft was merged with its parent company, Donner & Reuschel Aktiengesellschaft .

Cash Group and Cashpool

The bank was a member of the Cash Group until March 2010 . From March 1, 2010 to the beginning of April 2010, it was a double member of the Cash Group and the Cashpool ; since then it has been a member of the cash pool.

Personally liable partner

The last personally liable partners before the merger to form Donner & Reuschel Bank were Marcus Vitt (spokesman), Laurenz Czempiel and Hans-Jürgen Steuber.
