Revolutionary communists

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Revolutionary Communists (RK) are a small, Maoist and Stalinist group belonging to the anti-imperialist spectrum, with a focus on Berlin . The RK are trying to found a communist party based on Marxism-Leninism-Maoism and Bob Avakian's new synthesis. They argue that without Bob Avakian's new synthesis it is impossible to be a communist. You are assigned to left-wing extremism by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and represent an anti-Zionist position. The group first appeared in public in Berlin around 1989. Particularly formative for the demarcation and aversion of other political groups to the RK was their non-participation in the open preparatory assemblies (VVs) for the so-called "revolutionary demonstration ". The unsettled appearance of the RK, with its own loudspeaker van, led to violent clashes with the undogmatic - autonomous majority in 1990 and 1991 . The RK then organized independent demonstrations on May 1st. After the May 1st demonstration in Leipzig was set to begin at 6 p.m. in 1998 due to the fact that participation in the actions against the neo-Nazi march on May 1 was made possible, and the May 1st demonstration at 6 p.m. for the majority in the following years relocated in order to be able to be active during the day against the annual neo-Nazi demonstrations, the RK held their demonstration at 1 p.m. from Oranienplatz at the previous time.

In the 1990s, the group also appeared as part of the worldwide network Revolutionary International Movement (RIM). The leading organization of the current at that time was the "Shining Path" and especially its leader Abimael Guzmán , to which the RK repeatedly emphasized its allegiance and organized events. In recent years they then used the designation World People's Resistance Movement (WPRM) or people's resistance movement of the world and concentrated with their activities outside May 1st on the RIM member United Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) .

In addition to the violent clashes with members of other left currents on May 1, 1990/91, the discussions about anti-Semitism in the left and the knife attack by some of its members on May 30, 2004 at the carnival , the RK became publicly perceptible - especially in the Berlin Left of cultures .

History and background

During the revolutionary demonstrations on May 1st in Kreuzberg at the beginning of the 1990s there were physical clashes between the RIM and undogmatic - autonomous groups because the RIM wanted to include portraits of Stalin at the demonstration. This conflict escalated in 1992 and 1993 when the RIM beat the way for their loudspeaker truck with the help of wooden slats, seriously injuring several people. Because of this conflict, the RK and other Marxist-Leninist organizations organize an independent revolutionary May Day demonstration at 1 p.m.

"Anti-Zionist Action"

The RK received greater attention through t-shirts with an imprint of the “Anti-Zionist Action” logo that were produced in 2004 from their environment. The symbol resembled the logos of the Antifascist Action and featured a Palestinian flag in the foreground and a red flag in the background. This symbolism was sharply criticized by parts of the Berlin Antifa . In addition, the connection between the symbolism and the neo-fascist organization of the same name, Anti- Zionist Action, was discussed.

At the Carnival of Cultures on May 30, 2004, members of the RK were involved in a violent confrontation that had started due to the criticism of the said logo. A member of the RK injured one of those who had expressed criticism with a knife. This led to a worsening of the conflicts within the left scene, especially with anti-Germans , about anti-Semitism , the relationship to national liberation movements and the state of Israel . In response, 76 left and anti-fascist groups publicly distanced themselves from the Revolutionary Communists as a "violent and openly anti-Semitic group".
