Life

Khosrow Golsorkhi

Allamehzadeh was born in Sari in the Iranian province of Mazandaran in 1943. He studied from 1966 to 1969 at the Tehran University of Film and Television. Until 1973 he shot a series of children's short films and documentaries on behalf of the "Association for the Promotion of the Intellectual Abilities of Children and Young People" Kanun-e Parvaresh, which was founded on the initiative of Farah Pahlavi .

As a member of the Marxist militant Iranian People's Mujahedin opposition movement around Khosrow Golsorkhi and Karamat Daneschian , he was imprisoned in 1974 with Khosrow Golsorkhi. Khosrow Golsorkhi was charged with kidnapping the son of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and sentenced to death on the evidence available. Excerpts of his trial were broadcast on Iranian television. Allamehzadeh, who was also charged in this trial, was sentenced to a long prison term, but only served five years of that term. From this point on, he participated as a member of the Marxist guerrilla organization Fedajan-e Chalq in the underground struggle against the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi .

He has lived in exile in the Netherlands since 1983 , after he had campaigned for the fate of Khosrow Golsorkhi and Karamat Daneschian through filming and interviews and the underground organization had split up.

When he wanted to travel to Iran in 1998/99 for research on the rediscovered modern poet Ahmad Shamlu (* 1925 in Tehran) and wanted to apply for a visa based on his Dutch passport , the Iranian officials pointed out that he could be found despite his missing Iranian passport and continue to regard his escape as an Iranian citizen. This means that he can also enter the country without a visa. Since Allamehzadeh feared the loss of the protection of his Dutch citizenship in this case , he decided not to enter the country. In addition, Schamlu's health deteriorated rapidly due to his diabetes and cancer, which further doomed the film project The Testament of the Phoenix to failure.

While working as a filmmaker, Allamehzadeh regularly writes and publishes children's books , novels and short stories . In the past he has repeatedly given lectures and courses on the shooting of film and television productions at various universities around the world, for example at Hollins University in the US state of Virginia , Leeds Metropolitan University , United Kingdom , and at the International R / TV Training Center in the Netherlands .

In addition, Allamehzadeh is committed to Kurdish film and has shot various documentaries for Dutch television. He is fluent in Persian and English. He also has an advanced knowledge of Dutch and Spanish.
