Rhaudermoor has been part of the municipality of Rhauderfehn since the administrative and territorial reform of January 1, 1973 . Today it has 2940 inhabitants. In addition to Rhaudermoor, the district also includes the villages and residential areas of Batzen, Jackebusch, Kamphusen and Rhauderwieke. The scattered settlement is located about one kilometer north of Westrhauderfehn , the main town of the East Frisian community. The 3.42 square kilometers large district lies at a height of 1.8  m above sea level. NHN .

Rhaudermoor is a moor settlement founded in 1769, which was colonized from Rhaude . The area was probably sparsely populated before. The residential buildings, documented as Rauder Moorhäusser in 1724 and Rhauder Mohrhäuser in 1787, probably already existed when the Emden merchants Harm von der Berge and Rötger Francisi made an unsuccessful attempt in 1649 to build a Fehn according to the Dutch model near the Rhauder Schanze to put on. In 1823 the village got its current name. Immediately before the administrative and territorial reform, Rhaudermoor had 1420 inhabitants. In the meantime, this number has risen to around 2940 residents through the designation of new building areas.
