Rich Ferguson
Rich Ferguson (actually Richard K. Ferguson; born August 3, 1931 in Calgary , † May 24, 1986 in Rancho Mirage , United States ) was a Canadian middle and long distance runner .
At the British Empire Games in Auckland in 1950 , he was eliminated over a mile in advance and did not reach the goal over three miles . In 1952 he failed at the Olympic Games in Helsinki over 5000 m in the preliminary round.
At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver in 1954 , he won bronze in the mile run and finished fifth over 880 yards .
He was three times Canadian champion over three miles or 5000 m (1949, 1950, 1952) and once over a mile (1954). In 1953 he was starting NCAA championship over two miles for the University of Iowa .
