Rich Harney

Richard Owen "Rich" Harney (born June 7, 1954 ; † January 5, 2020 ) was an American jazz musician ( piano , composition , also singing ) who was active in the jazz scene of Austin (Texas) .

Live and act

From the early 1980s, Harney worked mostly with saxophonist Alex Coke in the Austin area ( New Visions , 1981); In 1986 the joint album The Worthy Constituents was created . He has also worked with singers Maryann Price ( Etched in Swing ) and Leslie Hyland Rodgers ( Just Smile , 2006). He also appeared as a band leader with guest musicians such as Gene Ramey , Tony Campise , Carmen Bradford and Martin Banks . With the singer Beth Ullman he organized the concert series Jazz at St. David's . In the field of jazz, according to Tom Lord , he was involved in 14 recording sessions between 1981 and 2013.
