Richard Anthony Hewson

Richard Anthony Hewson (born November 17, 1943 in Stockton-on-Tees , England ) is a producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist whose most famous project was the RAH Band.

Hewson began as an arranger in the late 1960s, working with stars like James Taylor , Herbie Hancock , Supertramp , Diana Ross , Carly Simon , Art Garfunkel , Leo Sayer , Al Stewart , Chris de Burgh , Fleetwood Mac and Chris Rea . In addition to his project "The RAH Band", he worked as a producer for Toyah Willcox , Five Star and Shakin 'Stevens in the 1980s . Today, Hewson writes music for TV and commercials.

The RAH band

The RAH Band was a pure studio project. RAH stands for the initials of the musician Richard Anthony Hewson. In 1977 Hewson wrote the instrumental piece The Crunch, which rose to number 6 on the British charts in August 1977. In Germany, the number was best known as the signature music of the popular WDR radio broadcast " Schlagerrallye ". Another well-known track is Electric Fling from 1978. In 1985 the RAH Band again made it into the top 10 of the British charts. The soul ballad Clouds Across The Moon, which Hewson recorded with his wife, was ranked 6th in Great Britain and 1st in Australia in April 1985 .
