Richard J. Brooker (born November 20, 1954 in London - † April 8, 2013 ) was a British stuntman , trapeze artist , actor , director , producer and entrepreneur .
Live and act
Brooker was the son of a CSMI British Cavalry officer and a trapeze artist before starting his acting career.
He got his first acting role as Jason Voorhees in And Again Is Friday the 13th by the magazine "Dramalogue", which selected him to take on the role of the psychotic and disfigured serial killer. In particular, he was the first actor to wear the now iconic hockey goalie mask as Jason , which later became the show's trademark. He did all of the stunts himself and wore blue jeans and a sweatshirt while filming. In addition, Brooker wore white foam pads under his shirt the whole time to give himself a stockier figure, as he was slim and well trained due to his former career as a trapeze artist.
He then took on minor film roles in The Death Hunter , Deep Sea Conspiracy and the television series Trapper John, MD He later directed series such as Bill Nye the Science Guy and produced several sports programs such as Fox Sports Networks , polo and horse shows.
In later years he worked as an entrepreneur.
In 2006 he won the Emmy Award .
According to his management, Richard Brooker died on April 8, 2013 of a heart attack.
