Richard Cramer (civil engineer)

Richard Cramer (born June 13, 1847 in Koethen , † September 9, 1906 in Berlin ; full name: Richard Edmund Otto Cramer ) was a German civil engineer .

Life

After graduating from high school, Cramer did a six-month internship at the Dingler'schen machine factory in Zweibrücken . From October 1865 to October 1868 he studied at what was then the Berlin Trade Academy, a predecessor of today's Technical University of Berlin . He worked as a designer for the Hoppe and Hummel companies, for the new buildings of the Berlin-Potsdam-Magdeburger- (since 1871) and those of the Berlin-Anhaltische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (1874 to 1877). Then he practiced his profession as a self-employed civil engineer.

Cramer was made an associate member of the Royal Academy of Civil Engineering in 1894 and later a full member. In 1899 he received the non-academic title of building officer , when the Royal Theater reopened after the major renovation with his collaboration, he was awarded the Red Eagle Order, 4th class . He later received the title of professor .
